UPPC FC have strengthened their technical bench with the appointment of Richard Kansole as the club's new goalkeeping coach ahead of the upcoming Uganda Premier League season.
Kansole takes over from Swaibu Ssebagala, who recently left the military side to join URA FC, creating a vacancy in the club's coaching department. His arrival is expected to provide continuity and fresh expertise as UPPC FC continue preparations for the new campaign.
The experienced goalkeeping trainer joins UPPC after a spell with URA FC, where he served as an assistant coach under Hussein Mbalangu. During his time with the Tax Collectors, Kansole was part of a technical team that focused on developing players and maintaining the club's competitive standards in the Uganda Premier League.
His move to UPPC FC also marks a reunion with head coach Abdallah Mubiru, a familiar face with whom he enjoyed a successful working relationship at Police FC between 2017 and 2022. The duo spent five years together at the Cops, helping build a competitive squad and earning praise for their tactical organization and player development.
That previous partnership is expected to ease Kansole's transition into his new role, with both coaches already sharing a strong understanding of each other's football philosophy and training methods.
For UPPC FC, the appointment represents another important step in strengthening the club's technical structure as they seek to improve on previous performances and challenge more consistently in the league.
Kansole's primary responsibility will be overseeing the development of the club's goalkeepers, improving their technical ability, match readiness, and overall performance throughout the season. His experience at both Police FC and URA FC is expected to add significant value to the military side's goalkeeping department.
With preseason preparations underway, Kansole will immediately begin working alongside Mubiru and the rest of the technical team as UPPC FC aim to assemble a squad capable of competing strongly in the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season.
His appointment also highlights the growing movement of experienced coaches within Ugandan football, as clubs continue to reinforce their backroom staffs in pursuit of improved performances and long-term success.
