BOMBO — Experienced center-back Edward Satulo has officially parted ways with Uganda Premier League (UPL) side Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF) FC.
The towering defender, who joined the Army side in September 2025 ahead of the recently concluded 2025–26 Uganda Premier League campaign, leaves the club as a free agent looking for his next challenge.
A Crucial Campaign at Bombo
Satulo arrived at UPDF FC with a reputation as a commanding, no-nonsense aerial presence, bolstering a backline that was heavily tested throughout a demanding season. The 25-year-old former Gomba and Singo Masaza Cup standout brought valuable top-flight experience to Bombo, having previously featured for Wakiso Giants, Rwanda's AS Kigali, and Kenyan Premier League outfit Bandari FC.
While his defensive efforts helped anchor the squad through crucial moments—including hard-fought points against regional rivals—both parties have mutually agreed to move forward in different directions as the club restructures its roster ahead of the upcoming season.
Looking Ahead
With his contract coming to an end, the lanky center-back is already attracting attention from several top-tier clubs in the region. Satulo's rare blend of physical dominance, leadership, and regional experience across Uganda, Rwanda, and Kenya makes him an attractive prospect in the current transfer window.
UPDF FC is expected to issue a formal statement regarding defensive recruitments in the coming weeks as they look to replace his experience in the heart of the defense.
